Christmas Gift Guide 2016: The Fragrances Edit
Perfume continues to be one of the most requested Christmas gifts on many women's wish lists, and this year is no different. Here are just a handful of some of 2016's bestsellers covering high street and designer favourites.
Monsoon Rose Gold Eau de Parfum
Best for Mums: Monsoon Rose Gold Eau de Parfum* (30ml, £24, link)

Highstreet fragrances have come on leaps and bounds in recent years, and the scents which are available now are a good alternative to more expensive designer perfumes. Monsoon Rose Gold is one such example with its chic bottle and on-trend name. Top notes include Sparkling Lemon and Soft Fruits, with layers of Tuberose, Neroli and Cyclamen, and a base of Vanilla, Musk and Amber. It's predominantly what I'd call a 'fruity floral' with the Lemon and Rose coming through the strongest. This perfume is something that I would buy for my mum or an older female relative, as it's a more mature and sophisticated fragrance, but one that's still got a glamorous contemporary feel about it.
Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy Eau de Parfum
Best for Teens & Girly Girls: Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy Eau de Parfum* (30ml, £23, link

Pop fans and girly girls alike will love Ariana Grande's latest fragrance which only launched back in September this year. From the pale pink abstract bottle with a fluffy pink pom pom, to the lacy bunny eared photo of Ms Grande herself on the box, Sweet Like Candy is sure to please her fans. As the name suggests, this is a very sweet and sugary perfume with initial fruity top notes of Blackberry and Pear, mixed in with Honeysuckle and Jasmine on top of Marshmallow, Cashmere Woods and Vanilla. Sweet, fun, a little sexy and 100% poptastic!
Lacoste Pour Elle Natural Eau de Toilette
Best All Rounder for Women: Lacoste Pour Elle Natural Eau de Toilette* (30ml, £27, link)

I wanted to include a fragrance that I could recommend as an 'all rounder' which would suit a range of women of different age groups and personalities, and I feel that Lacoste Pour Elle Natural ticks all of those boxes. Pour Elle Natural is one of my personal favourite perfume discoveries of 2016, and I really love how fresh, fruity and floral it is. Top notes include Pineapple and Raspberries with heart notes of Wild Rose, Orris and Jasmine and base notes of Sandalwood, Ambrox and Cream Coconut. I think it's those Pineapple and Coconut notes which remind me of summer holidays lying on a beach, but I just love it.
Star Wars Limited Edition Dark Eau de Parfum
Best for Men & Women who love Star Wars: Star Wars Limited Edition Dark Eau de Parfum* (50ml, £27.50, link)

What do you get the Star Wars fan in your life (and we all have at least one), who already has all the toys and the DVDs? You get them a Limited Edition Stars Wars fragrance, that's what! Keep Me Cosmetics have partnered with the mega movie franchise, and released a brand new range of fragrances inspired by popular characters and themes. Most interesting of all though is that all of the fragrances are unisex, so I'd say the scents are more 'mood' based than typically feminine or masculine. I've tried out a few of these, and Dark is a real winner in my book. With notes of Grapefruit, Magnolia, Violet, Dark Chocolate and Vanilla, it's a surprisingly complex scent that's very wearable and ideal for evenings and nights out.
Gucci Guilty Platinum Edition Pour Femme & Pour Homme
Best for Gucci Lovers: Gucci Guilty Platinum Edition Pour Femme* (75ml, £68, link) & Pour Homme* (90ml, £62, link)

If you're splashing out for a Gucci lover this year, treat them to the ultra-cool Platinium Edition of the signature Gucci Guilty fragrance. Their bestseller has been specially re-packaged for this Limited Edition version and features the bottles cocooned in a platinum-hued, mirrored metal, with feature glass windows behind the iconic interlocking G design. This super luxe treat is available for both their male and female clientele whilst stocks last so move fast if you want them!
Giorgio Armani Sì Intense Eau de Parfum & Acqua Di Gio Profumo Pour Homme
Best for Armani Fans: Giorgio Armani Sì Intense Eau de Parfum* (50ml, £72, link) & Acqua Di Gio Profumo Pour Homme (75ml, £71, link)

One of my own wishlist products that I would love to find under my Christmas tree is a bottle of Giorgio Armani Sì Intense Eau de Parfum. I've worn the original Armani Sì on and off for years, but a friend of mine was wearing this one the other week and I fell in love immediately with it. It's definitely a more bolder and deeper version of Sì with its top notes of uplifting Bergamot, Mandarin and Freesia, floral heart notes and base notes featuring Patchouli and Vanilla to name but a few. Overall, it's a confident, contemporary and strong feminine fragrance - the kind you'd want to wear to a job interview, yet works just as well for a night out with your girlfriends.

For men, I'd suggest something like Aqua Di Gio Profumo which is described as an 'aromatic aquatic' with its invigorating, fresh scent. Bergamot, Elemi Oil and Ginger make up the top notes, whilst there's a heart of Geranium, Rosemary and sage, and Incense, Patchouli and Cedarwood as base notes. Formulated with 20% essential oils, this is a long-lasting fragrance for men which will keep them smelling good all day. Mmmmm...
