L'Occitane & LUSH Sales Haul

Friday 4 January 2013

I didn't really buy much beauty-wise in the sales this year (I feel so old saying this, but most of my xmas money went towards buying a new sofa.  Oh the joys of being an adult!  It is a gorgeous sofa though), but I did manage to pick up these goodies from L'Occitane and LUSH.  As I received some L'Occitane gift vouchers for xmas, I decided to pop in there first:-

The first item I got my greedy mitts on was this incredible Almond Gift Set.  I spotted it ages ago on Angelica's blog (One Little Vice) and was really hoping it would be reduced in the sales.  And it was!  This lovely lot cost around £40 and inside the box were the following:-

2 x 50g Delicious Almond Soaps, 30ml Almond Smooth Hands Hand Cream, 50ml Almond Delicious Paste, 100ml Almond Milk Concentrate and a 500ml bottle of their amazing Almond Shower Oil (with a pump!).

Out of these, I've only tried the Shower Oil before, which is divine to say the least, so I'm excited to try out the rest!

At the counter, they had these gift sets on offer for £12 if you spent over £30 in store.  It has a great mix of some of L'Occitane's best selling products so I couldn't resist picking one up.  It contained the following:-

3ml Precious Cream, 30ml Essential Water, 5ml Precious Eye Balm, 10ml Shea Butter Hand Cream, 100ml Lavender Foaming Bath,  75ml Pivione Flora Shower Gel, 50ml Verbena Shower Gel, 100g Honey Soap and a cute little make-up/wash bag.

I've only tried the Shea Butter Hand Cream, so again very much looking forward to giving all of these products a go!  I'll probably include them in future 5 Mini Reviews posts so keep an eye out for those.

I went to LUSH a few days ago, so I missed out on the mad sales frenzy that always ensues.  Luckily for me, they had a couple of things still left on the shelves when I got there, so I picked up a 250g bottle of Snow Fairy Shower Gel and a little Winter Wonderland Gift Set which had a Snowcake Soap and a 45g pot of Dream Cream in it.  As these were half-price, my total at the till came to about £6.50, so not bad at all!

Did you pick up any beauty goodies in the sales this year?

  1. The L'Occitane products look lovely, I'd love to give the brand a proper try. I'm kind of bored and fed up of Lush to be honest, I have so much of their products to use up in my bathroom and I just feel like they're heavily overpriced and not that great - apart from in the sales of course! xx

    1. I'd highly recommend the Almond or Shea Butter range from L'Occitane, love them both :) I've been feeling the same about LUSH recently, I think it's one of the reasons I wasn't all that fussed about their sales xx

    1. I've done that in the past! I think I did well with restricting myself to picking up just one bottle and not three lol. I was really lucky to get some L'Occitane gift vouchers this year from my family otherwise I don't think I'd have been able to pick anything up, it's pretty pricey :( Hope you had a wonderful xmas too :) xx

    1. Oooo nice! They'd completely sold out of the shower gel gift sets in my local L'Occitane so they were certainly popular this year! I love Dream Cream, did a mini review of it here :)

    1. Yeah I saw a different set that didn't have the scrub or the milk concentrate in it, so I thought for the extra few ££s I'd get the big set instead. The shower oil is amazing! x

  14. The Amande line from L'Occitane is my favourite! I had everything except the hand cream (which of course you couldn't buy on its own) so I didn't end up buying the set, but I'm sure you will love everything in it!

  21. My mom is obsessed with l'Occitane! It's good at making kind of vintage, kitschy smells. Which one is your favorite out of your new collection?
