Project Pan #5: 6 Months Of Makeup Empties
It's time for the results of another Project Pan! I've been doing a PP since around Feb/March, so this is roughly six months worth of makeup empties and it's been a challenge!

Whilst I find it relatively easy to use up skincare and body products (as you'll no doubt have seen in my monthly empties posts), finishing up makeup items is a completely different ball game. This is probably because I don't wear makeup every single day, and when I do, I like to experiment a little and reach for a different lipstick or blusher, so it takes me a long time to fully use something up.

I love doing Project Pans because they encourage you to use the makeup that you have (it's a fantastic way to cut down on those impulse buys!) and it allows you some time to properly rediscover a bunch of products that you may have neglected. You can check out my previous completed Project Pans here.

For this PP, I pulled out 10 full-size makeup products that I really wanted to use up, and a couple of samples/minis as well. Here's how I got on and what I would consider repurchasing again.

Project Pan #5: 6 Months Of Makeup Empties
Superdrug Deep Action Mattifying Shine Control Papers (featured here)
Have used these for years and they come in very handy when you're out and about, so are perfect for keeping in your bag for a quick touch up. They blot away any shine and don't disrupt your makeup. Repurchase? I'm currently using some from Mai Couture at the moment which I prefer, but I'd pick these up again as a budget-friendly option.

MOSSA Skin Perfector BB Cream in Soft Beige
I wasn't a fan of this at all! I found the formula too thick and greasy, and the colour quickly oxidised on me. Repurchase? No.

Dr Hauschka Tinted Day Cream
This was OK and provided a little more coverage which I liked as it still looked fresh, however, I feel that it would be better suited for drier skin types than mine. Repurchase? No.

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Illuminating Primer* (reviewed here)
It was a very sad day when this primer ran out as it's one of the best that I've ever tried! I absolutely loved using it and it created such a beautiful brightening base each and every time. My skin loved it as well as I never had any breakout or clogged pore problems from using it on a regular basis. Repurchase? As much as I want to, I have some other primers to use up first, though I'm sure we'll meet again in the near future!

Giorgio Armani Skin Defense Primer SPF 50(reviewed here)
Although I initially really liked this primer, I slowly began to fall out of love with it about halfway through the bottle because the formula began to get quite thick and gloopy, despite still being well in date. For such an expensive primer, I would rather spend my money on the Juice Beauty one above, rather than risk buying this again and being unable to use the latter half of the bottle. Repurchase? No.

Project Pan #5: 6 Months Of Makeup Empties
NARS Audacious Mascara in Black Moon
This was OK, but it didn't impress me enough to want to purchase a full-size and I feel that there are plenty of much better mascaras out there that are half the price of this one. Repurchase? No.

Ciate Wonderland Mascara (reviewed here)
Case in point, if you are after a quality high-end mascara, buy this one from Ciate instead! I've repurchased it twice now (always when there's been a discount code or offer on though) and it's fantastic. Gives me big lashes and reminds me a lot of Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara. Repurchase? Yes.

GOSH Blown Away Mascara(reviewed here)
Like I mentioned in my original review, I wasn't 'blown away' by this mascara at all. It's OK for everyday/natural looks, but ultimately, I prefer a much bigger and volumised lash so this wasn't for me. Repurchase? No.

Daniel Sandler Invisible Blotting Powder(reviewed here)
Wow, this felt like it lasted forever! I remember hitting pan on it around Christmas time! This is a brilliant translucent pressed powder which is perfect for producing a matte finish. It never looks cakey or powdery, and really does live up to its 'invisible' name. Repurchase? Tempted!

Lord & Berry Intensity Satin Lipstick in Brick
This was a gorgeous 90s brown-toned, reddy pink and had a similar formula to MAC's Amplified Lipsticks which I loved. I found myself wearing this shade a lot during the start of the year around Jan-April, so I was glad to have finished it up a few months ago as I've had it my makeup collection for ages! Repurchase? I have a couple of lipsticks that are a similar shade so it's a no for now.

Project Pan #5: 6 Months Of Makeup Empties
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup (reviewed here)
Creme Cup is one of those classic MAC shades and it's such a perfect pale pink nude that looks amazing with a smokey eye. It's also one of the few MAC lipsticks that I've ever repurchased which goes to show how much I must have liked it! Repurchase? I'm holding off as it takes me forever to use up a lipstick, and I do already have shades that are probably dupes. I will save this for Back2Mac though!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner & Ink Liner
I finished up two mini liquid eyeliners from Kat Von D. I didn't find that there's much difference between these two - they're both pigmented, easy to use and long-lasting, but perhaps the Tattoo Liner lasts a little bit longer? Repurchase? I would definitely buy the Tattoo Liner again.

Benefit Ready, Set, Brow!
I don't get the hype for this at all - it's basically just a clear brow gel! It does the job and does it well, but there are much cheaper products that are virtually identical to this, so I'm glad that I picked it up as a magazine freebie because I wouldn't pay full price for it. Repurchase? No.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise (featured here)
Remember when these were all over blogs and Youtube?! I've gotten through a pot of this Poppy Paradise shade before and I still love it! Very easy to sheer out and it looks so pretty and fresh on. Repurchase? I have too many similar products to justify buying another one right now :(

Eylure Brow Amplifier in No 10 Dark Brown (featured here)
I've repurchased this before and still like it a lot. Super easy to use, it has a teeny tiny brush so that you can fill in small gaps for fuller brows. Doesn't smudge, looks natural and stays put all day. Repurchase? I'm trying out some different brow products at the moment and I think I've found one that I prefer over this - sorry Eylure!

Have you ever done a Project Pan?
Have you tried any of the products that I used up?

Beauty Box: Love Me Beauty - August 2017 review + 20% Discount Code

Love Me Beauty - August 2017 review + 20% Discount Code
Moving on from the changes that Love Me Beauty introduced last month (check out my previous review here for all the info on those), I was really pleased to see them add a whole bunch of new products to their online shop for this month's picks.

If you're new to Love Me Beauty, they're a beauty subscription service which lets you choose the products that you want to receive every month, so if you've been disappointed by the 'surprise' element of other boxes in the past, this one should be much more your thing!

In exchange for the monthly fee, you'll receive 60 credits to spend on whatever products you want from Love Me Beauty's online shop and there are lots to choose from. If you spot extra products that you want, you have the option of purchasing additional add-on credits so you can really go to town treat yourself! In addition to the products that you pick, you'll also receive a free makeup bag with your order every month instead of a traditional box, which is a nice little extra.

Here's what I got in August's Love Me Beauty bag to give you an idea of the products that are currently available. These are all focused on luxury makeup and fragrance minis, but there are also makeup brushes, skincare, bodycare and nail polishes to choose from as well.

Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly
Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly (1.5ml deluxe mini - 15 credits)

Buxom are one of those make-up brands that I've been wanting to try out for a while now, but for some reason, I just never got around to picking up any of their products. Needless to say, I was very happy when I saw that Love Me Beauty had added some of their items to the online shop and I just had to try some! This Full-On Lip Polish in the shade Dolly is one of the brand's bestsellers and features their unique plumping formula to give you a big sexy pout. It subtly tingles and feels cooling when you apply it, and guess what - it works! Dolly is a sheer, shimmery lip gloss in a light mauve shade - very pretty and it doesn't feel overly sticky - I love it!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Cathedral
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Cathedral (1.2g deluxe mini - 20 credits)

Is there anything cuter than a miniature lipstick?! I absolutely adore these Studded Kiss Lipsticks from Kat Von D and I'm thrilled to add a new shade to my growing collection. The formula is truly amazing; they're richly pigmented, go on so smoothly, feel moisturising and they stay put for hours. This shade Cathedral is definitely a new favourite of mine - a stunning medium pink with a subtle touch of a brown undertone to it.

Kat Von D Lock It Translucent Setting Powder
Kat Von D Lock It Translucent Setting Powder (1.4g - 20 credits)

I've heard a lot of great things about this Kat Von D Lock It Translucent Setting Powder and it has a lovely silky feel to it. It features a clever kind of 'micro-blurring' technology which helps to give a flawlessly diffused finish to the skin so that you're 'selfie-ready' at all times. I've used it twice so far and I'm seriously impressed it. This powder works amazingly well for setting concealer underneath the eyes, and it helps makeup stay looking fresh for longer when applied all over the face.

Buxom Lash Mascara in Black
Buxom Lash Mascara in Black (6ml deluxe travel size - 15 credits)

If you're in the market for a new mascara, why not try out this one from Buxom? For just 15 credits, you get a deluxe travel size of their bestselling Lash Masacara which adds intense volume, whilst separating and defining the lashes for a super glam, wide awake, fluttery finish. The curved rubber bristle brush really manages to grab every single lash without clumping - brilliant stuff!

Kat Von D Eau de Parfum in Saint
Kat Von D Eau de Parfum in Saint (4.5ml travel size - 10 credits)

Perfume fans can pick up travel-sizes of Kat Von D's hugely popular Saint and Sinner Eau de Parfums for just 10 credits each. I have Saint which is a sweet, floral blend of Jasmine, Vanilla, Musk, Mandarin, Caramel and Plum. It's a lovely Summer fragrance and perfect for everyday wear.

Love Me Beauty - February 2017 review
After seeing a couple of spoilers on Instagram for the Love Me Beauty makeup bag this month, I was looking forward to mine arriving as I can't get enough of cute designs like this!

If you're new to Love Me Beauty, they're a beauty subscription box with two main differences. Firstly, you get to choose the products that you want each month from an online 'Edit' with 'credits', and you can purchase additional credits if you want more products, and secondly, you receive your products in a makeup bag instead of a box which usually means that it'll fit through your letterbox. My friend Sophie gifted me a six-month subscription with them for Christmas, and I've been enjoying it so far as they have a lot of brands in their Edits which I love (this month's had NUXE, Kat Von D, Aromatherapy Associates, Makeup Forever and Charlotte Tilbury to give you an idea).

From February's Love Me Beauty Edit, I chose the following:-
Love Me Beauty - February 2017 review
NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or in Golden Shimmer (10ml travel size)
If you haven't smelt the classic Nuxe Prodigieuse fragrance, then you need to - it's one of my favourite scents and I always have to have a bottle of the original oil in my beauty stash because it's so versatile. This is the Golden Shimmer version which is infused with lots of light reflecting shimmer in that fantastic multi-purpose oil base. You can use it anywhere on the face, body and hair, and I tend to save it for the summer months to use on my arms and legs when I've got a tan on holiday because it adds such a lovely, healthy looking glow. One for the holiday bag for sure!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper (0.2ml travel size)
This is a seriously amazing liquid eyeliner with a nifty fine tip for getting that coveted cat eye flick nailed down. It's richly pigmented, waterproof and long-lasting - what more could you want from a liquid eyeliner?!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Mercy (1.2g travel size)
I seem to be collecting mini lipsticks at the moment, but I just couldn't pass up on this beauty. I have another one of these in the shade Magick which I swatched here a while back, and I absolutely loved the formula so I was keen to try out more. This shade Mercy is a stunning deep berry, plum colour on the lips with some violet shimmer to make it stand out. I don't have anything like this in my makeup collection - it's quite different and surprisingly wearable for a vampy evening look.

NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm (15ml full size - RRP £9.50)
Regular readers will know about my love for this lip balm and I'm happy to be reunited with it once more! I've gone through my fair share of these pots of honey infused balmy goodness and it's still very high up in my best lip balms on the planet list. If you're a lip balm addict and you haven't yet tried this, you must!

Kat Von D Makeup - Review & Swatches
The arrival of Kat Von D's makeup range in the UK back in September was perhaps the most anticipated beauty event of the year. Being a massive fan of the lady herself, I picked up a few of her most popular minis to see what all the fuss was about.
