UK Giveaway: Win a full set of 7th Heaven Spa Range Pamper Treats - 3 Sets to Giveaway!

7th Heaven Spa Range Pamper Treats
We've finally made it through the longest, greyest month of the year (hooray!), and to celebrate surviving January, I've teamed up with 7th Heaven to give three of my lovely UK readers the chance to win a full set of their Spa Range products.

I've been using Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven face mask sachets since I was a teenager, and I've been excited to see the brand grow over the years with new products coming out all the time. Their Spa Range is the latest development and it currently features three pamper-friendly products in their iconic sachets. These are:-
  • Softening Glove Masques - A 15-20-minute moisturising treatment for dry hands, enriched with Shea Butter and scented with Rose Petals.
  • Softening Sock Masques - Similar to the gloves above, these are a 15-20 minute moisturising treatment for dry feet which feature Shea Butter, Almond Oil and refreshing Peppermint.
  • Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Fingers Masques - Weak, brittle, damaged nails? Give them some TLC with these clever little finger masques which get to work in just 15 minutes. Enriched with Pomegranate extract, Argan and Macadamia Oil.

Each of the 7th Heaven Spa Range products is a one-use, sheet mask style application. I've tested all of them out recently, and my favourite is the Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Masques (pictured above) which have been helping to sort out my ridiculously dry cuticles and nails. They did get some funny looks from my housemates (especially the socks and gloves - no surprises there!), but the results were worth it!

These products are cruelty-free, Vegetarian Society approved, and are currently priced at £2.99 each. You can find them in your local Primark, ASDA and online from ocado.com

Want to win a set?
I have 3 x full sets of these to giveaway to 3 lucky UK readers. If you fancy entering, just enter your details into the Rafflecopter below, making sure to include an email address or Twitter handle so that I can contact you if you win. Optional entries are also available if you'd like more chances to win! Giveaway ends on next week on 7th February and winners will be drawn via random.org - good luck!

Budget Beauty: You Beauty Discovery Box - June 2014 review

Thursday, 26 June 2014

After seeing lots of blogposts raving about how great (and affordable!) the You Beauty Discovery Boxes are, I decided it was high time I checked them out.

Review: Love Me Beauty Box - June 2014 (Menu 3)

Friday, 13 June 2014

June's Love Me Beauty Box arrived bright and early this morning.  I chose Menu 3 this time around, so let's take a closer look at what's inside!

June Empties

Wednesday, 27 June 2012

It's that time again!  Here are my empties for June and whether I would repurchase them:-
  •  The Body Shop Coconut Body Scrub - Although I adore anything coconut scented (and this does smell good), I thought this scrub wasn't very effective at all.  It's more like a shower smoothie and has these tiny bits in it that just don't exfoliate anything.  Repurchase? No.
  • Lush The Olive Branch Shower Gel - I always seem to have a small bottle of this in my bathroom and like to use it every now and again for a change.  Repurchase? Yes.
  • KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry Spray - Love this, it does what it says it'll do and is lightweight on the hair.  Repurchase? Yes, definitely will get a full size.
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Tinted Moisture Lotion - I do like this because it moisturises well and gives pretty good coverage for a tinted product, but I feel it's better suited to dry skin types because it can feel a bit too greasy on my oily/combination skin, especially in summer.  Repurchase? Maybe in Winter.
  • Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in 09 Currant - Nice sheer gloss, a little sticky though.  Repurchase? I wouldn't buy a full size, but I would pick up another sample.
  • Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream - Lovely to use at night as it's very rich and super hydrating.  Repurchase? Already have another sample.
  • LJ's Natural Solutions Balancing Organic Moisturiser* - This was too heavy for my skin so I used it up as a night cream and it was great for that.  I imagine it would work really well for dry skin.  Repurchase? No.
  • Jurlique Purely White Skin Brightening Cleanser - Loved this sample, my skin did look brighter after just one use.  Repurchase? Yes, I think I would buy a full size.
  • Montagne Jeunesse Sauna Masque - One of the best budget beauty buys out there, this is simply amazing for only 99p!  Has a warming effect which draws out any impurities clogged in your pores and always makes my skin look really clean afterwards.  Ideal if you're prone to breakouts.  Repurchase? Yes!

  • Percy Reed Spendidly Silky Moisturising Conditioner - Didn't hydrate my hair, it made it even drier, hated it!  Used it up as shaving cream instead.  Repurchase? No!
  •  Witch Anti-Blemish Skin Clearing Primer - I like this a lot as I find it really works well for oily skin and creates a barrier that prevents make-up from breaking you out.  Repurchase? Yes, but not for a while as I'm using Benefit's The POREfessional at the moment.
  • Dead Sea Spa Magik Silky Smooth Body Lotion - Lovely formula that sinks into the skin straight away, but it doesn't really have a scent.  Repurchase? No.
  • Bodhi Ylang Ylang Incensa Sensual Body Moisturiser* - The scent of this is absolutely divine but I prefer the formula of other body moisturisers more.  Repurchase? Probably not.  I'd rather splash out on the shower gel with the same scent instead.
  • Lavera Basis Sensitive Hand Cream - Great summer hand cream because it's quite light, really like this.  Repurchase? Yes.
  • Weleda Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body Wash - This has a wonderful uplifting citrus scent and was quite moisturising too.  Repurchase? Yes, would buy a full size at some point.
  • Iroisie Ultimate BB Cream SPF 25 - Tried this today and wasn't that keen on it.  Smells quite strongly and was very thick which made it difficult to blend.  Repurchase? No.

October Favourites

Tuesday, 1 November 2011

Photobucket

I know I say this every month, but doesn't time fly? I usually try to pick just a handful of favourite products, but October was such a good month for discovering some new (and old) ones that there are about two handfuls here. Oh well! Here's what I loved:-

Purity Conditioning Cleansing Lotion - my new make-up remover that is incredibly gentle and just lovely to use. I have used Lush's Ultrabland for around two years but feel that this light Purity one may replace it. We'll see. Purity Facial Exfoliator - so, so good! One of the best exfoliators I've ever tried. Korres Body Butter in Quince - I wasn't sure of this at first but the scent has really grown on me, was from my Boudoir Prive box. Montagne Jeunesse Sauna Masque - amazing self-heating mask that smells great and leaves skin feeling thoroughly cleansed, and they're so cheap!

Dermalogica Lip Complex - my favourite Dermalogica product out of the three sent by Glossybox, I've nearly used it all up (well it is tiny!). L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream - a go-to hand cream that I've used for years and was happy to pick up as a magazine freebie. If you have dry hands, using this will make them all soft and supple again. Ceteum SCR Gold Illuminating Mask - a great exfoliating mask that makes skin look visibly clearer and brighter, I was very impressed with this. Another Boudoir Prive fav! Daniel Sandler Eye Delight in Peach - I was so unsure of this to start with but when I tried it, it just suited my skintone beautifully and is really easy to blend with, from my Carmine box.

The Balm Blush in Fratboy - this has soon become an all time favourite blush of mine, it's just so nice and subtle to add some colour to your face, also from the Carmine box. Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel - Snow Fairy is back and I still love using it, smells like cotton candy! Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Moray - gorgeous olive/khaki green with a gold undertone and it stays put until you remove it, my favourite item from Glossybox. StudioMakeUp Line Styler Pen - I was worried that this would be quite smudgy but it stayed put well with primer underneath and its fine tip makes doing flicks and cat eyes super easy, another Boudoir Prive fav.

What have been your favourite products recently?

Montagne Jeunesse products review: part 2

Here's the final part of my Montagne Jeunesse products review, you can read part one here.

Peel off face masks were probably the first type of mask I tried when I was a teen because so many were formulated for troublesome young skin. MJ's Peel-Off Masque is your standard generic version. It has a strong, almost medicinal scent to it which made my eyes water a little as I was applying, though it soon went away after a minute or so. You leave it on for about 10 minutes or until the cold liquid has dried and then peel it off. My skin felt very clean afterwards but that scent would put me off from using it again.

For an extra pampering treat, I used the Deodorising Foot Cooler which is a strange cream foot talc. Like some foundations, it applies like a cream and then tries to a powder. There was plenty in the sachet to thoroughly cover both of my feet and I experienced a pleasant cooling sensation. One that I would use more of next Summer I think.

Back to face masks, the Sauna Masque was the one which I was most excited to try out because I LOVE warming treats like this, especially when it's cold outside. The self-heating mask has a subtle clean scent and heated up extremely well (some that I have tried in the past heat up for about 30 seconds and that's your lot - this one lasted a good few minutes). I got two uses out of one sachet and my skin felt wonderfully soft after. Definitely my favourite out of the bunch.

Lastly, I tried the Face Tonic, which as you can see in the photo, is one of those cloth masks which are impregnated with the solution. It promises to be a '5 minute miracle', contains dead sea minerals and helps to de-stress. Well, it didn't perform much of a miracle for me (my skin did feel nice and clean but that was about it) but I can vouch for its de-stressing ability. Due to the nature of the cloth mask, it forces you to sit/lie down whilst the treatment takes effect. I am guilty of putting on a face mask and then rushing around to do other things, so I liked that it made me stop what I was doing and relax.

It's been a lot of fun trying these out. I think I may have become addicted to face masks and treatments though!

P.S My Glossybox is currently being held hostage at the Royal Mail depot, so I've been avoiding the blogosphere to prevent from ruining the surprise! Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow and I'll put a post when it's in my hands. Is it a good one?!

Montagne Jeunesse products review: part 1

Sunday, 4 September 2011

Photobucket

About a month ago I received a swap package of Montagne Jeunesse products. Montagne Jeunesse is a brand that takes me back to that wonderful era of being a kid and having girly sleepovers, but I haven't used anything by them since then. I chose five at random to start with and here's what I thought:-

Photobucket

Always on the hunt for a quick face mask, I liked the Gel Cream Masque in Strawberries and Cream which is a thick creamy mask with little scrubby bits. Very gentle on the skin, smells lovely and leaves skin feeling nice and smooth.

Next, I tried the Spa Facial Mask (with aloe vera, ginseng and plant extracts). A fruity scented exfoliator which does a great job of removing dull dead skin and making it look fresh and clean again. I saw a noticeable difference in my skin afterwards, pores looked smaller and my face looked brighter.

Two products that I was sceptical about were from the Renew You range. I tried the Restoration Gel Face and Neck Masque which has a thick cream consistency to start with and then dries to a thin jelly/gel. I was put off my its heavy perfumed scent but it did leave my skin smooth and soft afterwards. I then used the Anti-Cellulite Body Masque Gel, a clear orange tinged gel with lots of microbeads for exfoliation. Once on, it has an instant cooling effect which borders on tingling but I didn't notice anything else once it was rinsed off.

Lastly, I tried the Deodorising Foot Scrub which smells AWFUL (very medicinal, not my thing at all) but did a good job making my feet smooth and fresh.

Not a bad batch to start off with, I'll post part 2 when I've tried them.
